Homeownership is Still a Sound Investment

According to a recent survey by the National Association of REALTORS® the vast majority of Americans believe that buying a home is still a solid financial decision and most believe they could sell their home for at least its initial purchase price. The 2015 National Housing Pulse Survey also found that a preponderance of Americans think that NOW is a good time to buy a home. Can’t disagree with that at all! With interest rates still hovering a little over the 4% mark, it’s almost cheaper to buy than to rent!
We are still doing okay in our market here in Kingsburg. Our inventory went up just a little, SOLD homes went from 11 up to 8 and the PSF (price per square foot) moved down slightly to $145. It is taking an average of 31 days to sell a home. Of the 8 SOLD homes, 3 of them sold in less than 1 week. Of course, we are coming into the fall months with the holiday’s right behind, so that usually means the market will slow down.

The Rotary’s Taste of the Town is coming up this Sunday on October 18th at the Historical Park starting at 5:30 pm and ending at 8:00 pm. If you have not been to this awesome event, you really need to go. It is so much fun. Tickets are $30 each and they are available at the Chamber of Commerce office in downtown Kingsburg.
And as an alternative to the Trick or Treat tradition, the Chamber of Commerce presents the First Baptist Church’s Annual Fall Carnival and Trunk or Treat event on Halloween night starting at 6:30 and ending at 8:00 pm at Memorial Park. This is a free event for the kids and lots of fun for the adults who are still kids at heart. We will be there as always ….. with a circus theme this year. No comments about the clown outfit please!
