The Clout of Social Media

With the ever-increasing ever-changing clout of social media, online marketing can be a nightmare.

The real estate industry is no exception to this rule. Just when you think you have all the right marketing “tools” in place, up pops a newer, better version. Okay so we now have Facebook (both personal and business), Twitter, and LinkedIn, Pinterest (yes, Pinterest sells homes), text messaging and now, Google+. And don’t forget all the apps (Zillow, Trulia, Hotpads, etc.) for those smart phones and the real estate related websites (Realtor.com, Frontdoor.com, Yahoo real estate, etc.). Makes your head spin. Sometimes you wonder if all this technology is really the way to sell homes. Even though we have strived mightily to keep up with real estate technology (this monthly blog is a prime example), the one-on-one old fashioned relationship that we have with our customers (doesn’t have to be in real estate) is the one true determining factor of keeping and maintaining valuable clients. The Clout of Social Media can bring us those valued clients but it is up to us to keep them!
Our real estate market here in Kingsburg is doing okay. A little flat, but normal for this time of the year. We sold 8 homes in January and the average Price Per Square (PSF) is holding steady at $122. Some areas sold higher and a couple of foreclosure/short sales brought the average down a bit. I foresee a good Seller’s market this spring with low inventory and low interest rates on mortgages.
Who doesn’t love pancakes for dinner? Join us for a fun evening on February 22nd for a Kingsburg Kiwanis Pancake Supper. Lots of great silent auction items including toys, gift certificates, baked goods, bikes and much more. Dinner includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit and drink. All for only $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The fundraiser will be held at the Orchard Bible Fellowship Church located at 2400 Stroud from 5 to 8:30 pm. See you there!
As always, we appreciate you taking the time to read our monthly blog post and look forward to any comments you might want to make.
